The University Archives, housed with the Special Collections, holds
publications, records, photographs and other materials on the University of Central Florida, formerly Florida Technological
University from its beginnings in 1963 to the current day. Materials are selected, preserved, and made accessible for their
enduring historical and administrative value to the University. These records may be paper-based, or in other formats such
as photographs, audio, or film; they are appraised for their content.
Because of their unique and sometimes fragile nature, materials cannot be checked out; they must be used in the Special Collections Reading Room only. Patrons are asked to register and to use the materials with care. Some materials cannot be photocopied.

It is the University of Central Florida policy to preserve the
institutional memory of the university by transferring historical
documents to the Archives. It is the responsibility of the office of
creation, working with the university archivist, to transfer records to
the University Archives. For more information, please see the
University Archives Policy and the
Records Transfer page.
Finding Aids or Guides to manuscript and records collections held by the UCF Special Collections and
